This little Kurinuki cottage is made from speckled stoneware clay using the Japanese technique of carving a piece from one block of clay. (Kurinuki)
Impressed with leaves from oak trees and washed with oxides, once bisque fired, the cottage is high fired to 1200 degrees and glazed in green celadon.
The clay from the inside of the house is used for the little acorn, which hangs from the roof and the incense burner stand, which is carved with an acorn .
All cottages are individually carved and only one is available as each will be different.
A lovely addition to anyone’s home!
